Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic has take enough points in the finals of the tournament in St. Petersburg to reach the best WTA rank in the her career. Vekic has progressed for five places and is now the 25th tennis player of the world
Donna beats Alison Van Uytvan in Madrid in her first game of qualifiers, now she has 6 wins in a row since Kuala Lumpur, when she won the tournament and got her first title. It was the first wins on clay red this year playing singles.
“I think grass really suits my game. I like the speed of it and I like to dictate matches and I like to be in control in the points,” she said. “Hopefully I can win Wimbledon. It’s on grass, it’s my favourite Slam and it’s in London.”
Donna Vekic is through to Aegon Classic final after a 7-6(5), 1-6, 6-3 win over Slovakian 2009 Aegon Classic champion Magdalena Rybarikova.
